US Federal Courthouse

US Federal Courthouse

General Services Administration (GSA) provides support for several federal departments. The new U.S. Federal Courthouse would include 6 courtrooms, judges’ chambers with libraries, and offices for the GSA. The U.S. Marshals would also occupy space with offices, holding cells and a bus sally port for prisoner transportation.

The building’s envelope consists primarily of limestone veneer. The interior finishes include stained cherry in the courtrooms, limestone, carpet and terrazzo flooring. As the building’s centerpiece, the Entry Rotunda is open to all three levels, wrapped with insulated curtain wall glazing and capped with a copper roof. The floor displays a terrazzo mural of the Rio Grande River.
